Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  How long have you been a QuickBooks ProAdvisor?
A:  I have personally used QuickBooks since version 1, it was a dos based program that came on the old 5 1/4" floppy discs.  I became a Certified Pro Advisor in 1998 and have renewed nearly every year except for the 4 years that I was designing tax preparation software.  I have worked on every version of QuickBooks from version 1 to version 2015 to include their standard versions, online versions, payroll only versions, pro version, premier version, enterprise version and point of sale version.  Many people view QuickBooks as on out-of-the-box ready to go accounting program and are sadly mistaken when they attempt to review financial reports and realize that it would have been much easier to have a professional with experience set up the chart of accounts, beginning balances, inventory items, service items and structure the flow of posting processes specific to your business so that the information going in will add value to the information that you desire to come out in the form of financial reporting.

Q:  How long have you been in the accounting and tax field?
A:  I have been in the accounting and tax field for over 25 years.  I began working in the accounting department of a very large food manufacturer in inventory control, from there I went to become a business manager for a specialty retailer that had locations at multiple malls in 3 counties and a world wide mail order warehouse.  I have had my own tax and accounting practice previously that was successful and have worked for a software company developing tax preparation software, I have also held the position of corporate controller and CFO of a national homebuilder and specialty construction company that had revenues in the $100 million range annually.  My love has always returned to working in a personal practice and working with a client base as a tax accountant interacting with a client base in a range of areas from developing business plans, implementing accounting systems, tax preparation and planning, budget planning and analysis and handling the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping needs.
